Shaker One-Wall Fitted Kitchen with Island and Quartz
Stillorgan, Ireland
- Style: Shaker (Bastille Shaker – Legno White Grey)
- Property: Residential home (open-plan kitchen renovation)
- Service: One-stop service — design, supply, delivery & installation
- Budget: Mid–high (Calacatta quartz worktops + Double Belfast sink + island)
This fitted kitchen renovation is a perfect example of how a classic Shaker look can feel fresh and modern when the layout is kept clean and simple. The client wanted a bright, family-friendly space that wouldn’t date, but still had that “proper fitted kitchen” finish—so we built the design around the Bastille Shaker range in Legno White Grey, paired with Calacatta-style quartz worktops for a crisp, premium feel.
A Shaker Kitchen That Still Feels Light and Modern
Shaker doors are popular in Irish homes for a reason: they’ve got that timeless frame detail, but they’re not fussy. The Legno White Grey tone keeps everything soft and warm (less stark than pure white), and it works brilliantly with natural light from the roof windows. To add a bit of polish, we kept the palette simple—light cabinetry, white quartz, and a few darker accents (like the extractor and range) to give the room definition.
Layout: One-Wall Kitchen, Made More Practical

The main layout here is a one-wall kitchen, which is ideal for open-plan spaces where you want the kitchen to sit neatly in the room without taking it over. All the core units and appliances are kept on a single run, so day-to-day cooking feels straightforward and uncluttered.
To make the space work harder, we added a generous island opposite the run. That island does a lot of heavy lifting:
- extra prep space (so you’re not stuck working in one spot)
- casual seating for coffee, chats, or the kids’ homework
- more storage, without crowding the main wall
It’s a simple setup, but it makes the kitchen feel bigger and far more social.
Worktops & Sink: The “Upgrade” That Changes Everything

The client chose Calacatta quartz worktops, and you can really see the difference quartz makes in a renovation. It reflects light, it looks clean, and it stands up well to everyday use.
We also fitted a Double Belfast sink, which suits a Shaker kitchen perfectly. It’s practical for real life (big pots, trays, family dinners) and it adds that classic detail without needing loads of extra decoration.
Storage: Fitted, Tidy, Easy to Live With
Even with a one-wall layout, this kitchen doesn’t feel short on storage. Tall units help keep everything looking built-in and streamlined, while the island takes care of the “where do we put all this stuff?” problem. The result is a kitchen that stays tidy more easily—less clutter on the worktops, more space where you actually need it.
One-Stop Kitchen Service: We Handle the Whole Lot
This was a full design-to-fit job, so the client didn’t have to coordinate different suppliers and trades. We looked after:
- Design & planning: layout, storage, finishes, and practical positioning
- Supply: cabinets, worktops, sink and fittings as one package
- Delivery: organised and scheduled to keep the job moving
- Installation: professional fitting with clean lines and a proper handover
