The Design Concept
This kitchen centres around the timeless elegance of the Chatham shaker door in Heritage Green. The muted green tone brings depth and character while remaining calm and refined. Paired with crisp quartz worktops and full-height quartz splashback, the space feels bright, clean, and contemporary.
The island is finished with waterfall quartz end panels, creating a strong architectural feature within the room. The contrast between the deep green cabinetry and the light quartz surfaces adds balance, preventing the darker shade from feeling heavy.
Chrome knobs and cup handles were selected to complement the shaker detailing. The polished finish adds a subtle traditional touch while maintaining a fresh, modern look.
Functionality & Storage
While the overall appearance is elegant, this kitchen was designed with practical everyday use in mind.
Deep drawer units replace traditional lower cupboards wherever possible. These wide, fully extendable drawers provide easier access to cookware and utensils, eliminating the need to reach into the back of cabinets. Internally, the drawers feature a Robson Oak finish, adding warmth and a premium feel when opened.
A built-in cutlery organiser keeps utensils neatly arranged, improving organisation and usability in the main preparation area.
The island cabinetry includes generous storage on both sides, making it functional from multiple angles. Large pan drawers offer substantial capacity while maintaining clean external lines.
To enhance workflow, the design incorporates a pull-out bin system, neatly concealed behind the shaker door. This keeps waste hidden but easily accessible during food preparation. A dedicated pull-out spice rack sits close to the hob, allowing convenient access to everyday cooking essentials without cluttering the worktop.
Tall cabinetry houses the integrated fridge freezer and oven stack, creating a structured cooking zone while maintaining visual continuity across the wall run.
Materials & Finishes
Quartz worktops and matching splashback were chosen for durability and visual simplicity. The subtle veining in the quartz adds texture without overpowering the green cabinetry. The waterfall island detailing enhances the contemporary finish and adds a sense of solidity.
The vinyl wrapped Chatham doors provide a smooth, durable surface that is easy to maintain, making them ideal for busy households.
