The Challenge
The client’s kitchen no longer reflected their vision of a space that was both modern and timeless. The layout was functional but felt dated, with dark cabinetry and limited natural light. They wanted to brighten up the space, make it feel fresh and welcoming, and also integrate modern features without losing the warmth and character of a classic design. They also wanted a more functional and organized space for their busy family life.
The Approach
For this project, we wanted to create a kitchen that felt both modern and warm, with a focus on quality materials and a layout that maximized the available space. We suggested going with Edison solid wood kitchen doors in a soft Painted Pebble for a timeless, elegant look. The fresh, subtle green tone adds a touch of color while maintaining a neutral, calming atmosphere. Here’s how we achieved the perfect balance of style and functionality:
Painted Pebble Cabinetry: The Painted Pebble cabinetry brings a fresh, natural vibe to the space. This calming color is perfect for creating a relaxed atmosphere while still offering a sophisticated and modern look. The traditional style of the Edison solid wood doors blends beautifully with the contemporary vibe of the rest of the home.
Stellar White Quartz Worktops: To complement the soft green cabinets, we opted for Stellar White Quartz for the worktops. This material is not only stunning to look at but incredibly durable and easy to maintain. Its clean, white surface brightens up the space and creates a perfect contrast to the cabinetry, giving the kitchen a light and airy feel.
Spacious Layout: The U-shaped layout maximizes every corner of the kitchen, creating an efficient work triangle and offering plenty of counter space for meal prep and entertaining. The addition of extended counter space on the right side makes it easier to incorporate small kitchen appliances and offers more room for preparation.
Integrated Appliances: To maintain a sleek look, we incorporated integrated appliances into the design. The built-in oven and hob blend seamlessly with the cabinetry, keeping the kitchen visually cohesive and organized. The under-cabinet lighting adds a modern touch and highlights the beauty of the worktops, making the space feel even brighter.
Practical Storage Solutions: In addition to spacious drawers, the design features cleverly placed shelves for easy access to kitchen essentials. With plenty of drawer storage and cabinet space, everything has its designated place, keeping the kitchen tidy and functional.
The Result
The kitchen has been completely transformed from dark and dated to bright, functional, and welcoming. The Painted pebble cabinetry offers a timeless elegance, while the Alaska GTX Quartz worktops bring in a modern touch with easy maintenance. The functional storage solutions and undermount sink make daily life much more organized and enjoyable, while the polished nickel hardware adds just the right amount of luxury.
