Before the Renovation

The kitchen was ready for a fresh start. While it had served its purpose over the years, the timber cabinetry, patterned flooring, and overall finish were beginning to feel outdated. The space no longer reflected the homeowner’s taste or the look they wanted for the rest of the home.

There was plenty of natural light coming through the windows, and the room itself had good proportions. But the darker tones and older materials made it feel heavier than it needed to be. Storage wasn’t being fully used, worktop space felt restricted, and the layout didn’t flow as well as it could.

The goal was straightforward — update the kitchen with a clean, contemporary style, improve the overall functionality, and create a space that felt brighter, more modern, and easier to live with day to day.

The Approach

To achieve the modern look the client had in mind, we recommended the Mather Flat Pack Kitchen Door in Legno Graphite. This deep graphite tone instantly transformed the space, giving it a bold and confident feel without overpowering the room.

The slab-style door keeps the design clean and minimal, which works perfectly for a contemporary kitchen. Paired with brushed handles and warm wood-effect worktops, the darker cabinetry feels balanced and intentional rather than heavy.

We extended the cabinetry to maximise storage and improve the overall flow of the space. The long wall run provides generous preparation space, while tall units add valuable vertical storage.

White subway tiles were installed as the backsplash to contrast with the darker doors and keep the overall look fresh and bright.

The Signature Laminate Flooring in 8mm Artisan Oak Beige adds warmth and texture underfoot. It softens the darker tones and brings the whole design together, while remaining durable for everyday use.
